Switch n' Save™
Most members believe switching a checking account and
supporting products/services (i.e. direct deposit, ACH,
money market, etc.) is too much of a hassle to do, even
if it cost them more to keep it at their current financial
institution. Statistically, the typical member has had their
family's primary checking account at the same financial
institution for 12 years.
However, the number one reason someone switches financial
institutions is because of "dissatisfaction" with their
current one. Two keys to getting members to "switch" are:
- Constant and consistent promotion - because one never
know when a particular member will be interested
in switching, and
- The easier the credit union makes
it for a member to switch checking and related accounts
to the credit union, the greater the probability
the member will.
