Newsletters
Newsletters are the most cost effective marketing
tool a credit union can use to communicate with
members on a regular basis. To increase the probability
members will look forward to receiving your newsletter
and reading it, the newsletter must look like
it would be interesting to read (graphics) and
contain useful information the member will benefit
from by reading (education).
Balancing the fine line between “selling”
and “educating” can be effectively
done to generate business to offset the cost of
publication.
When a newsletter is included with statements,
approximately 75% of members read the newsletter.
When the newsletter is mailed separately approximately
87% are read. To include with statements or not
is an individual credit union decision based on
determining if the limited additional readership
justifies the added cost of mailing separately.
